Austrailian Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Delay Due to Mature Rating

One of the major surprises that happened during the 2016 PlayStation Experience was that Capcom released Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 onto the PlayStation Store. While gamers in North America and Europe have been able to enjoy the remastered fighting game on PlayStation 4, that hasn’t been the case for gamers down under. The game has been mysteriously delayed up until this point, but now we know why.

The reason for the Marvel vs Capcom 3 Australia delay is due to the game receiving a Mature rating by the notoriously strict Australian Classification Board. This is considerably higher than the PG rating the game originally received in 2011, and Capcom is trying to get the game reclassified so the game can be experienced by more players.

Here is the official statement that Capcom gave to Do You Even Game Bro regarding the delay:

Due to Marvel vs. Capcom 3 receiving a higher age rating in the ANZ regions the team have to make some minor changes to the rating settings of the game in order for it to release and as such there is unfortunately a delay. We hope to be able to release the game for players of 15+ age in February and will have more news soon. We apologise for the delay in bringing the game to fans in this territory

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is available now on PlayStation 4 in territories other than Australia. The game features all of the previous DLC, including the two additional characters and alternate costumes.
