February 2017 NPD: PS4 Beats Xbox One For the Fourth Straight Month

For the fourth straight month, PlayStation 4 was the #1 best-selling console in the United States, the NPD’s February 2017 report has revealed. Instead of offering up a statement about their latest victory, Sony just confirmed that PS4 was the #1 overall home console in the US in terms of sales last month.

Microsoft, meanwhile, said the hours played on Xbox One in February were up 11% year-on-year, unique users were up 35% year-on-year, and Halo Wars 2For Honor, and the addition of Grand Theft Auto IV to the backwards compatibility catalog helped drive engagement.

The NPD will release their full February 2017 report next week, where For Honor, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Nioh could all appear in the software top 10.

It’s likely the PS4 won’t be the #1 console in March 2017, as the Nintendo Switch had the biggest two-day opening of any system in Nintendo history and continues to sell well.
