E3 2017 – Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus’ Story Begins Right After The New Order

The official announcement of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus was one of the much-awaited and arguably the best reveals of Bethesda’s E3 press conference. And during YouTube’s E3 Coliseum panel as well as in a new post on Bethesda’s website, it’s been revealed that the story of The New Colossus will begin right after the end of its predecessor, The New Order.

During the livestream, Wolfenstein II Creative Director Jens Matthies said:

This game is a direct sequel so it starts immediately after when the first game left off this one picks up.

In the first game, you stole this Nazi nuclear aircraft-carrying submarine and that’s sort of the base now. It’s the biggest submarine in the whole Nazi fleet and that’s become the resistance headquarters for this game. And the core idea that the resistance have is to liberate America and thereby create a platform to liberate the rest of the world.

Matthies followed this up in a statement on the Bethesda website saying:

The New Colossus is a direct sequel. It picks up immediately where the last one left off. We’ve constructed the game in a way that new players will catch up quickly and get what the game is about. For returning players, of course, they will know all of the backstory. They will just be able to flow right into the narrative of this game.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is scheduled for release on October 27, 2017, for the PlayStation 4 and other platforms.
