Players have been wondering what exactly is Dishonored: Death of the Outsider. Besides the fact that it’s the latest title in the popular Dishonored series not much has been known about. Thankfully, Besthesda has some answers for us, and those answers are sure to please fans.

New players to the series are likely wondering if they can start with Death of the Outsider, while veterans must be mulling over how if this new entry ties into the first game. Bethesda’s blog has an answer for both:
The culmination of an arc that began with the assassination of Empress Jessamine Kaldwin in the original Dishonored? Or the perfect entry point into the richly realized Dishonored world? When it comes to Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, the answer is simple: both. A standalone adventure featuring Billie Lurk – a fan-favorite character who’s playable for the first time in the series – Dishonored: Death of the Outsider sends you on an impossible mission to take down a supernatural god-like figure.
Dishonored: Death of the Outsider is a standalone expansion of Dishonored 2, but it is almost effectively a new game in the series. It will also, of course, feature many of the series mechanical staples:
Stay in the shadows or step into the daylight to take on all foes – the choice is yours. Equipped with a unique set of supernatural abilities, gadgets, and weapons, you can approach each situation in your own way. Use your abilities and skills to sneak through environments unseen or brutally eliminate all opposition in your way.
Dishonored: Death of the Outsider will release September 15 on the PlayStation 4.
