Destiny 2 Servers down

Destiny 2 Servers Down For Maintenance as Bungie Prepares Raid Release (Updated)

Update 3: The Destiny 2 servers are back online.

Update 2: Bungie now expects maintenance to last until 2 PM PDT.

Update 1: Maintenance has been extended by one hour. Expected end time is now 12 PM Pacific.

Original: Bungie took the Destiny 2 servers down temporarily this morning for standard maintenance, likely to prepare for the release of new content coming this week. All services are currently offline, which means that any apps or sites using the Destiny 2 API are unlikely to work. Servers are scheduled to be back up around 11 AM Pacific time.

With the Raid coming Wednesday, and Xur and Trials of the Nine coming on Friday, it’s not surprising that Bungie is taking a few hours to do some housekeeping and get things ready on their end. The release of all the endgame loop content means that our full review is just around the corner, but for now you can read our Destiny 2 review in progress to get a good idea of what we think of the game so far.

I could go on and on, but I won’t. Even as much as the story experience has been improved, and many quality of life changes have been implemented, Destiny is all about the endgame. If you aren’t concerned at all about the endgame content, my recommendation is to get Destiny 2 right now. If your hestitation was on story, whether it changed enough from the first, or any other number of small quality of life things, rest assured that Bungie listened to their players and Destiny is better than it’s ever been.

While you wait for the Destiny 2 servers to come back up, why not read our endgame guide, detailing all of the activities you can do after the story is done? You can also check out how to trigger all heroic public events in Destiny 2’s patrols. We’ll keep you updated on when the servers come back online.
