Nickelodeon Kart Racers Looks Like a Nostalgia-Fueled Fever Dream

We have gotten our first official look at the upcoming Nickelodeon Kart Racers, and it certainly looks to inspire nostalgia cravings in millennials everywhere. It brings your favorite Nickelodeon characters together for fun racing hijinks across a variety of Nick cartoons’ most iconic locations.

Check out the slime-fueled (because it’s Nickelodeon) trailer here:

What this Nickelodeon Kart Racers trailer doesn’t include, however, is the fact that most (if not all) of these characters should not be able to drive. SpongeBob literally never passed his driving test, and some of these characters are actual babies. This all seems much too dangerous to take part in. But hey, Reptar is playable, so I guess all is forgiven.

Outside of that, this seems to be your standard kart racing affair. There are a number of cups available and you can participate in a battle mode for free-for-all fun. Nickelodeon Kart Racers will also include:

• Race on 24 different Slime-filled tracks, including Bikini Bottom, NYC sewers, Tommy Pickle’s house, Arnold’s school and more!

• Customizable Karts with multiple power-ups and special attacks

• Awesome Co-Op and Local Multi-Player for non-stop action the entire family will love!!

So far, tracks and characters from series like Spongebob SquarePants, RugratsHey Arnold, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been confirmed. Hopefully, we’ll see more shows added to the racing fun. (Seriously, where are Jimmy Neutron: Boy GeniusMy Life as a Teenage Robot, and Avatar: The Last Airbender?)

Nickelodeon Kart Racers releases on October 23, 2018, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. If it isn’t enough Nicktoons nostalgia for you, Nickelodeon and THQ Nordic recently announced a partnership to revive various licensed games.
