Play Street Fighter V Free, Including Season 3’s DLC Characters, Next Month

Were you interested in Street Fighter V at launch, only to pass up on the game due to some less than stellar reviews?  If you’d still like to try out the game, you can do so next month once a free trial kicks off. Those who own a PS4 or a PC and use Steam will be able to download Street Fighter V free and get a chance to test their skills at the latest installment in the classic series of fighting games, no purchase required.

A tweet from the official Street Fighter Twitter account featured a short clip detailing exactly what players can get their hands on during the free trial period. Starting on August 1, 2019 and lasting until the 11th, players can download the free trial and try out the entire base game’s launch roster of 16 characters, as well as all six of the additional DLC characters included with the game’s third season of post-launch DLC. Season 3’s DLC characters are Sakura, Blanka, Falke, Cody, G, and last, but not least Sagat.

Street Fighter V launched on February 16, 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and PC. The updated Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition released in 2018, which included all of the base game’s content bundled with Character Pass 1 and 2. Despite its initial launch being back in 2016, the game still has a competitive scene which continues to thrive. Recently, the final numbers for EVO 2019 were revealed, in which the game managed to beat out Tekken 7, Mortal Kombat 11, DragonBall FighterZ, Soulcalibur 6, and more. Its final numbers sat at 1,929, second only to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s 3,492, showing that the game is still in high demand among fans.
