Resident Evil Outbreak Remaster

Resident Evil: CODE Veronica, Outbreak and Outbreak File 2 Remasters Rumored

Resident Evil: CODE Veronica, Resident Evil Outbreak, and Resident Evil Outbreak File 2 are rumored to be getting a remaster after Capcom updated their website with artwork that appeared to have been upscaled. While Capcom has been known to update historical Resident Evil assets before seemingly without reason, one of the games has been rumored previously.

Could Capcom be remastering three Resident Evil games?

Capcom recently updated the Resident Evil history page of the Resident Evil Portal website by adding Resident Evil: CODE Veronica, Resident Evil Outbreak, and Resident Evil Outbreak File 2. However, all three games have received updated artwork as noticed by Twitter user Alex Aniel (thanks ResetEra). The artwork is clearly upscaled but also appears to have extra work done to make them more fitting for the modern era. The publisher has done this before without the release of a new game, including a Resident Evil 25th anniversary stream that included updated Resident Evil Classic assets, but it seems strange to update the artwork for three games just for a small section of a website.

A Resident Evil Outbreak remaster has been rumored previously after the game appeared alongside “Resident Evil 4 Remake” and “Biohazard 2022” in the list of 18,000 titles that leaked out of the GeForce Now Internal Database. A recent interview in Famitsu for the 25th anniversary also revealed Capcom is planning a “special message for fans” on March 23, and many are hoping Capcom ends the 25th anniversary celebrations with a bang by revealing new games and/or remasters. However, until then, take these rumors with a pinch of salt.

In other news, an update from BioWare has confirmed Dragon Age 4 is in the middle of production. The game’s blueprint was completed at the end of 2021 and now the team is working to bring those concepts to life. Elsewhere, Sony has extended to ability to share PS5 game captures through the PlayStation app to the Americas.
