Skull & Bones and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Still Releasing This Fiscal Year

Ubisoft has revealed the titles that they currently have in development and are due to be released during the current financial year. The list hasn’t changed much since the one revealed back in February, reconfirming Skull & Bones and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora as getting a release date before the end of March 2023 alongside Nintendo Switch title Mario & Rabbids: Sparks of Hope.

In their earnings report today, Ubisoft announced they will be releasing a trio of AAA titles between the start of July 2022 and the end of March 2023 “as well as other exciting titles”. The games, which still don’t have a firm release date, will include Skull & Bones and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, as well as the Nintendo Switch-exclusive Mario & Rabbids: Sparks of Hope. There will also be free-to-play releases throughout the year too, including “those based on our biggest IPs”. This is likely to include The Division: Heartland, perhaps even Rocksmith+ and XDefiant, although Ubisoft never elaborated on any specific titles.

Before any of those games hit consoles, both Roller Champions and a mysterious new Rabbids game called Rabbids: Party of Legends will be released by the end of June. However, nowhere to be seen anywhere in the report were the Ubisoft Star Wars game, the Splinter Cell remake, Beyond Good and Evil 2, or Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. While the former two are likely just too far away from release to warrant a mention, the latter two are seemingly stuck in development hell and only time will tell as to what happens with those.

In other news, Capcom has promised to double the number of games that it releases throughout the current financial year than it released during the previous 12 months. Elsewhere, Rocksteady has confirmed Gotham Knights will not have any microtransactions in the two-player co-op game.
