Sony Actively Improving PS Store, Hires Former Apple Executive for the Job

Tired of PS Store errors and issues, or those pesky cheap Platinum trophy shovelware? Good news! Sony’s serious about improving its online storefront, if a new hire is any indication. According to Variety, former Apple services executive Ben King has joined Sony Interactive Entertainment as senior VP of direct-to-consumer, where he will be overseeing PS Store among other PlayStation direct-to-consumer endeavors.

PS Store is one of the most-visited digital stores, apparently

In a statement provided to Variety about his new role, King claimed that PS Store is “one of the most visited digital media stores on the planet.” His goal? To better serve PlayStation digital services’ over 100 million active users per month. King added:

This gives us the unique opportunity to think creatively about the relationship with our users, helping them to unlock maximum fun and joy from the PlayStation ecosystem, while simultaneously creating financial opportunity for our games studio partners. We have the ability to better serve our community by delivering more personalized experiences, helping each and every customer to discover the perfect entertainment for them, through the right channel, at the right time.

Now that we can create personalized PS Store gift cards, when can we expect the ability to gift PS Store games, Mr. King?
