Although The Last of Us Part I is (semi) playable on Steam Deck, the game has been classified as “unsupported” by Valve. And according to Naughty Dog, Steam Deck verification isn’t a priority right now.
Is The Last of Us Part 1 playable on Steam Deck?
Those who want to play The Last of Us Part 1 on the go can do so, but expect its performance to be a hot mess. Naughty Dog is busy fixing the game on PC so the handheld isn’t exactly a focus right now.
“We know many of you would like to play The Last of Us Part I on Steam Deck,” Naughty Dog acknowledged. “We are prioritizing fixes and patches before submitting it for verification. We will keep you updated of its Steam Deck status as we continue to improve the PC version.”
This makes The Last of Us Part 1 an outlier among other PlayStation first-party games on Steam, but such is the state of it that leaving its verification status last on the list is probably a great idea.
Prior to the game’s launch, Naughty Dog promised that The Last of Us Part 1 would be playable on the handheld. Players who purchased the game to play on the go are understandably unhappy with the news.
