Sony cracking down on PS5 Pro specs leak

Sony Takes Down PS5 Pro Leak, Practically Confirming It’s Real

Sony Interactive Entertainment has practically confirmed the recent PS5 Pro leak by issuing a copyright strike against the YouTube channel who first reported on the console’s specs. YouTuber Moore’s Law Is Dead (MLID) first leaked PS5 Pro’s specs in mid March, which were later corroborated by known insiders. Nearly a month later, Sony has had the video taken down.

The copyright strike was first noticed by a user on Reddit, and we can confirm that the MLID video we shared with our readers back in March has indeed been taken down since. “This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Sony Interactive Entertainment,” reads a message on the page.

It’s unclear how MLID got a hold of the specs. The YouTuber has somewhat of a mixed reputation when it comes to leaks, so it took many by surprise when known insider Tom Henderson confirmed that not only were the specs real, but that they were most likely leaked by a small or midsize studio when Sony opened up the dev kits and accompanying documentation to a wider group of devs.

Sony allegedly began investigating the leak immediately, with insiders saying that the leak will have consequences for third-party devs.
