TheStreet’s David Tong has been spreading the word, or “chatter” as he likes to call it, that Apple Inc. is looking into an acquisition of game publisher Electronic Arts. But Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan has some strong words for Tong.
In reference to Tong’s claim, Pachter told VG247:
“To say that it is idiotic would be an insult to all idiots.”
And honestly, we can’t help but agree with him there. EA isn’t in a weakened state, and can easily stand up to potential buyouts. Also, the idea doesn’t make sense in the first place. If Apple needs games for their iPhone/iPod Touch platform, there’s plenty of third parties to rely upon.
