Test Drive Unlimited 2 Beta Hits the Open Road

Test Drive Unlimited 2, the upcoming arcade racer from Atari and Eden Games for the PlayStation 3, is nearing closer and closer to its Fall 2010 release date. As such, Atari has been releasing brand-new information, screenshots, and of course multiplayer information. Fortunately, a new light has been shed on this and more!

According to the director of Test Drive Ultimate 2, Alain Jarniou, currently “the plan is to have an open beta of TDU2”. In an interview while discussing the possibilities of a preview demo or multiplayer beta, he had this to say:

“The difficulty of having a demo for a game like this is the fact it’s a huge island, and a huge amount of data. It’s not the best way to show the game. So yeah, for now the plan’s an open beta.”

This new may be bitter-sweet due to the lack of a single-player multiplayer but the but on the sweet side, the title is confirmed to be huge. While competing games like Burnout Paradise had single-player demos despite the game’s size, we may just have to trust this by assuming it will be one of the biggest racing titles we’ve played on the PlayStation 3.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 releases this Fall.
