Forbidden Screens of Persona 2: Innocent Sin

Atlus USA will be bringing the portable version of Persona 2: Innocent Sin to North American stores on September 20th. Hot off of UK-based publisher Ghostlight recently declaring its intentions to do the same for PAL turf, we’ve got several new screenshots to look upon.

This PSP version of a 12-year-old PSX title is nearly a complete overhaul of the original. The English translation is of course brand new, as the game had not previously been available outside of Japan. Pretty much everything except the story has seen some form of timely upgrade; even then, the way the story is presented is much more in tune with current times than its first version. The biggest addition is said to be the mission creation system, which allows players to take on something like a lite version of the RPG Maker franchise. Players can build their own quests and reportedly have a good amount of creative control over the dungeon layout, rewards, win conditions, and can even write the NPC dialogue. Doing so on a PSP sounds like quite a chore though, so we’ll have to see how that actually works out in practice.
