Warhammer 40k: Space Marine will be getting its first round of downloadable content on October 25th for the incredibly low price of free.
The content, called Exterminatus, adds a four-player online co-operative mode appropriately called Exterminatus (go figure) that pits four buddies against an onslaught of Orcs and Chaos enemies. In this mode, players can choose from one of two starting scenarios: Assault on Hab Center Andreas and Escape from Kalkys Facility, and you’ll be able to choose up to three classes: Tactical Marine, Devastator or Assault.
Speaking to Eurogamer, producer Andy Lang at Relic Entertainment discussed plans for future DLC:
There are some plans [for more]. We’re working on some other DLC.
There will be a free component to them as well as some paid components.
While Relic’s Space Marine was lacking in many areas, it’s great to see the developer treating the franchise’s fans well with free DLC.
