General News

  • In something that was taken way out of context, Vice President and Co-Founder of Epic Games Mark Rein suggested Adam Boyes and Shuhei Yoshida play some Gears of War when they’re in New York City. After some believed this meant the game was coming to PS4, Rein said, “Guys stop being silly. [Adam Boyes] has an Xbox 360 just like [Phil Spencer] has a PS3. He can easily play Gears. We all play each others’ games.” [Twitter 1, 2]
  • Coming out this Winter on PS4, PS3, and PS Vita is Backgammon Blitz, which will be a timed exclusive on PlayStation. Not much is currently know, but there will be Cross Play, along with a trial version to show you the ropes of Backgammon. [Source]
  • The PS4 will be released in Korea on December 17th for roughly the equivalent of $490 USD. [Via, Press Release]
  • Velocity Ultra will be released for the PlayStation 3 on November 12th in North America and November 13th in Europe. Keep in mind that it won’t include Cross Buy. [Press Release]
  • During the big PS4 All Access event on November 14th, Shuhei Yoshida will stop by to talk about 1st party Sony studios. [Twitter]
  • Contrary to reports, the Killzone: Shadow Fall PS4 Mega Bundle hasn’t been delayed in the UK. PlayStation Access wasn’t able to confirm or deny if this meant there was still a delay for other countries though. [Twitter]
  • Don’t forget that the Call of Duty: Ghosts double XP weekend starts at 10AM PST on November 8th and ends at 10AM PST on November 11th. [Press Release]
  • As announced at GDC Next, Square Enix will allow developers to make new games based off of these IPs: Gex, Fear Effect, and Anachronox. [Source]
