After some early news arrived about the PS4 and the Xbox One, the full NPD November 2013 (from November 3rd to 30th) retail sales data report for the US has arrived, revealing that total industry sales were up 7% to $2.74 billion.

Thanks to the new consoles, hardware sales rose 58% to $1.327 billion and accessories climbed 17% to $327.4 million, but software sales (includes PC and handhelds) dropped a whopping 24% compared to last year, ending up at $1.1 billion.

NPD Analyst Liam Callahan revealed how November 2013 was the best month ever for hardware:

With the introduction of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, coupled with positive sales for the Nintendo 3DS, sales in November 2013 marked the best November for hardware sales on record.
