Telltale Games’ Game of Thrones Features Five Playable Characters

Amidst multiple teases (including the latest one above), Telltale Games’ Game of Thrones game is remaining mostly in mystery, but Telltale did offer up the fact that there will be five playable characters.

This news came as part of an interview with IBTimes UK, where Telltale Senior VP of Publishing Steve Allison said:

In Game of Thrones we’re taking that multi-protagonist design even further with five playable characters from the same family whose choices affect everyone in the family, and that adds a whole new layer to things that we’re really excited about.

Telltale Games is also using multiple protagonists in Tales From the Borderlands, giving you control of two characters.

Elsewhere in the interview, Allison confirmed that both Game of Thrones and Tales From the Borderlands are “on track” to premiere before the end of 2014. As Sony’s PlayStation Experience details revealed, they probably won’t be out before December 7.

When Telltale’s two new series debut, you may notice that they run much faster than previous Telltale games, with Allison explaining, “We have also added asynchronous loading to our upcoming Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones series that significantly improve our loading times versus some of our older game series on all platforms from mobile to next gen consoles.”
