Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro to Reunite for Special Address During DICE Summit

Plans are already in place for Guillermo del Toro to induct Hideo Kojima into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame at the event, but now the esteemed film director will share the stage with Kojima at this month’s DICE summit to reflect on their respective careers.

Set to be moderated by The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley, the Thursday session has been described as “a conversation with Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro,” allowing each creator to “revisit some of their fondest memories from their own individual careers as well as some of the pivotal moments from each other’s work that remain a constant source of inspiration.”

Kojima and del Toro were once attached to Konami’s now-cancelled Silent Hills reboot, but plans quickly fell through before development could begin in earnest. Since then, there have been mooted reports that the creative pair would collaborate again in the future but for now, the developer’s attention appears to be drawn to Kojima Productions’ in-development PS4 title

The annual DICE summit will begin on February 16, featuring talks from Gearbox alum Randy Pitchford and Fallout Game Director Todd Howard, among others. It’s expected that the event will be streamed online.
