XCOM 2 for PS4 & Xbox One Delayed to September 27

As part of Take-Two’s financial report yesterday, 2K announced that XCOM 2 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has suffered a short delay and will now release on September 27 in North America and September 30 in Europe.

Priced at $59.99 USD for the regular version, XCOM 2 for consoles is developed by The Workshop. In the Take-Two earnings call, the company said XCOM 2’s delay was “necessary to ensure that the game is fully polished at launch and meets the team’s high standards for the critically acclaimed PC hit.”

You can also pick up the $74.99 USD XCOM 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes these three pieces of DLC as part of the Reinforcement Pack: Anarchy’s Children, Alien Hunters, and Shen’s Last Gift:

  • Anarchy’s Children features more dramatic rebellion-themed soldier customizations.
  • Alien Hunters transform XCOM soldiers into an elite alien hunting squad and face off against new alien Rulers.
  • Shen’s Last Giftwhere Chief Engineer Lily Shen accompanies your squad in search of her late father’s secretive final project, discovering a unique new soldier class with powerful combat abilities for your squad.

If you pre-order XCOM 2, you’ll receive the Resistance Warrior Pack, includes additional soldier customization options such as bonus outfits, headgear and custom facial war paint, as well as a Survivor of the Old War, a new XCOM recruit who will appear in the Avenger’s barracks.
