Destiny 2 Xur Location and Inventory Guide for December 15 – December 18, 2017

Destiny 2 xur

It’s Friday, which means that it’s time for our Destiny 2 Xur location and inventory guide. Unlike Destiny 1, where Xur was always present in a social space, the mysterious vendor can now be found out in the exploration zones. This week, Xur is back in the Tower, just like his old Destiny 1 days. His currency is Legendary Shards, which can be obtained by breaking down legendary and exotic gear. Xur now stays from reset Friday morning until the weekly reset on Tuesday, so no more worrying about getting to him within a 48 hour window.

This week, Xur is in the Tower. Head over to the hangar area and climb the stairs behind Dead Orbit. You can mark his location on your map. This week, Xur is selling the D.A.R.C.I. Sniper Rifle for 29 shards. The Celestial Nighthawk Hunter helmet is available for 23 shards. You can get the Hallowfire Heart Titan chest armore for 23 shards. And finally, the Eye of Another World Warlock helmet for 23 shards.

Xur also sells a Fated Exotic Engram for 97 shards, and a Three of Coins consumable for 31 shards.

The D.A.R.C.I. sniper rifle is offers more information about enemies that you view through the scope, including exact health percentages. While scoped and viewing this information, you get better target acquisition and increased precision damage. While the perks on this gun aren’t terrible, and it’s a decent sniper rifle, it’s hard to justify having this take up a power weapon slot, not to mention there being plenty of other exotic weapons more worthwhile. Buy it if you want to add it to your collection, but don’t expect to use it much.

Celestial Nighthawk turns a Hunter’s Golden Gun super into a single extremely powerful shot. This is a great exotic to have for boss damage. If you plan on undertaking Nightfall Strikes, Raids, or other difficult content, you’ll want to have the ability to use this helmet. It also creates an explosion when the enemy shot by the single bullet dies, so it can be useful in crowded areas with lots of adds, if no nearby powerful boss characters are available.

The Hallowfire Heart is a great piece of chest armor that increases solar abilities while the Titan’s Hammer of Sol super is fully charged. If you’re the type to hold your super for bigger moments, this is an exotic you ought to have. While it does require a specific subclass and need super fully charged, it’s a powerful piece of armor for the punchy, grenade-loving solar Titans out there. Try this exotic when the Nightfall modifier is Torrent to instantly get your grenade back.

Eye of Another World will highlight priority targets and recharge all abilities faster, excluding your super. This is a great all-purpose exotic that just helps Warlocks to be more efficient on the battlefield. It’s not going to be the best exotic in all cases, but it’s certainly not a bad selection, and it’s a great option to have in your back pocket if you’ve got the shards for it.

The Fated Engram is limited to one per account per week, and guarantees an exotic item that you haven’t yet gotten. The Three of Coins consumable will increase the chance for exotic engram drops from all sources for four hours. A single consumable costs 31 shards.

This week, Bungie released the second half of their big December update, announced a free Destiny webcomic, and revealed that The Dawning will be coming to Destiny 2 next week. We’ve also got a series of Destiny 2 guides, including an endgame guide for after the campaign, a step-by-step Raid guide, and a guide on how to trigger all heroic public events.

Which items are you picking up from Xur this week?
