Massive Modern Warfare 2 Update Incoming

The Stimulus Package DLC for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been available for quite a while now on Xbox Live due to an exclusivity deal with Microsoft. Despite having only been released on just one platform, it has already broken DLC records. Those who have been waiting for the Stimulus Package DLC to arrive on the PS3, won’t have to wait much longer.

From what is a massive update from Robert Bowling on the PlayStation Blog, Modern Warfare 2 will be receiving an onslaught of goodies come tomorrow. What better way to kick start PSN Tuesday’s than the Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package!

The highly anticipated DLC, which has been present on the Xbox 360 for a month now will be available on the PlayStation Store upon its first Tuesday update tomorrow. The Stimulus Package will include five new maps to the multiplayer mode, including two from the original Modern Warfare. However, the DLC has resulted in countless gamers disappointed with its heft price tag. The DLC will be released at a whooping $14.99 (£9.83, €11.35). Robert Bowling was quick to respond to the steep price, though, via a readers comment on the PS Blog:

Speaking from the developer side, not the business side of things, these maps will definitely give you a lot of multiplayer mileage for your dollar. I think every player should look at how much they play Modern Warfare 2 online and how much more play time they’ll get out of it with this additional content to determine if it’s a fair trade off for them.

If you decide to pick them up, I have no doubt you’ll enjoy them. If not though, you should still jump on and enjoy some double XP with us!

Wait, did he just say Double XP? Of course he did, because starting from tomorrow Double XP will be applied to not one, not two, but on all playlists, for until at least Monday – that’s right, one week Double XP. But wait, is there more? Surely not. Sorry folks but all MW2 owners will also be given a brand new playlist:

Team Tactical – 6-8 Players playing small team based games with Team Deathmatch, Domination, Capture the Flag, and Demolition. (First Person viewpoint)
