First Video, New Screens, Release Date for Grand Knights History

Dates are important in history. Years from now, historians will look back on Sept. 1, 2011 as the day Grand Knights History was released in Japan, or at least that’s the plan that Marvelous Interactive and Vanillaware have just announced.

Produced by Yoshifumi Hashimoto, this PSP game was originally expected to be released within the summer, but it looks like it’ll just narrowly miss that — or barely make it, depending on where you draw the line.

In addition to announcing the game’s release date, publisher Marvelous has sent out a few new screenshots and a trailer. Here are the images:

And here’s the first video, though it doesn’t show any gameplay:

You can also hit up the official (Japanese) website here. Vanillaware games tend to be remembered for their use of eye-pleasing 2D and unique gameplay, so this might be one to watch for those that enjoyed Odin Sphere (PS2), Muramasa: The Demon Blade (Wii), or GrimGrimoire (PS2).
