CinemaNow Instant Streaming Access Heading To PlayStation Network

The PlayStation Network is adding yet another partner to its already stellar line-up of online content providers.

Sony has just announced that CinemaNow will be making its way onto the PlayStation 3, giving gamers yet another option for streaming and renting movies and other entertainment straight from their console.

Here’s the service, as described on the company’s information page:

CinemaNow is a digital entertainment service that offers instant access to an extensive library of premium video content for rental or purchase, including new release movies and TV shows, with no subscription required. Through the service, customers can seamlessly access content on a wide range of Internet-connected devices, including TVs, Blu-Ray Disc players and PCs from multiple manufacturers.

While we certainly endorse the notion of “the more the merrier”, one has to wonder if the PSN is getting a bit crowded in the video service department. However, if this creates some competition and helps drive down the prices of these service, that could be a very good thing.

We’ll be sure to update you with any further details as we get them! Be sure to stay tuned to PlayStation LifeStyle!
