Electronic Arts has announced today that their upcoming science fiction space epic Mass Effect 3 is on track to surpass prior entries in the series, with pre-order numbers breaking the publisher’s initial target.
Speaking to MCV, EA’s UK product manager Will Graham shared the company’s excitement for the franchise’s growing success, saying:
Currently our pre-orders have broken the targets set, we are well ahead of where we were at the same point with Mass Effect 2 and we have all of the platforms aligned for launch, which is a first for the Mass Effect franchise.
He went on to discusses the major marketing push the game will receive right up until launch:
TV, cinema, online, print and outdoor activity will help capture the mainstream audience. For the core Mass Effect fan, we’ve been building on the immersive nature of the game with a host of trailers, social media activity and fan site activation.
Look for Mass Effect 3 when it invades Earth on March 6th in the US and March 9th in the UK.
