PlayStation 3D Display Finally Available in the UK, Bundled with Killzone 3 and GT5

The incredibly sleek – but all too small – 24 inch PlayStation-branded 3D display that was shown off during Sony’s press conference last year at E3 is now available to UK gamers.

While the budget-priced (or is it?) bundle has been available for quite some time in North America, European gamers have had to remain patient until now, but don’t worry, Sony is making it up to you. Instead of only getting a single pair of 3D glasses and Motorstorm Apocalypse, the UK bundle will include two pairs of glasses as well as Killzone 3 and Gran Turismo 5.

For those that aren’t familiar with the display, the device features “SimulView Technology” which allows two players (each wearing a pair of the glasses of course) to see two different images on the screen allowing them both to play together without having to sacrifice screen real estate. Oh yeah, and it supports 3D games too.

Oddly enough, Sony only includes one pair of glasses in the bundle for the US market, forcing gamers to drop a decent chunk of change to make use of the tech they so often tout. At least they’ve learned their lesson this time around and are doing UK gamers right. Then again, Sony’s pricing the PlayStation 3D display at the high price of £449.99 (that’s $722.63), so you be the judge on whether or not it’s worth the price of admission.

Amazon is out of stock until 26 April, but you can buy it online at Toys R’ Us or Shop Direct.
