Mikami Discusses Visuals of Zwei, “Extremely Confident About the Graphics This Time”

Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami recently shared a few interesting bits of info – including a haunting piece of concept art you can check out here – on his upcoming survival horror game, codenamed “Zwei.” Now, following the official reveal, Mikami has spoken out on the game’s visuals, an area of “Zwei” that he is currently very proud of.

In an expanded version of the initial interview that Mikami had with Famitsu, he made it clear that atmosphere will play a major role in conveying the sense of horror he is trying to create within “Zwei.”

At present, we’ve at last cleared the initial phase. Regarding art creation, we’re already getting a very good atmosphere. We’re extremely confident about the graphics this time. Of course, we can’t recreate the same quality as shown in these image boards, but we can deliver game screens with atmosphere that is close to this.

There are still mountains of inadequate areas, though, so we’ll have to work with the designers on brushing these up.

Mikami is making no bones about it, the gloves are off as he and his team set out to create a “pure survival horror” experience that takes the genre to new heights. Stay tuned to PlayStation Lifestyle for future updates on “Zwei.”
