Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault to Feature Tower Defense Gameplay

Ratchet & Clank developer Insomniac Games is bringing a brand-new installment in the popular action platforming franchise to the PS3 later this year. Dubbed Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault, this latest entry will be available as a download-only title and feature something never before seen in the franchise – a tower defense element.

Unlike All 4 One, Full Frontal Assault will mark the return of the game’s classic camera angle and action-heavy gameplay. The tower defense inspired twist will have players making use of Ratchet, Clank or Captain Qwark’s arsenal (depending on which character you choose) to stave off the oncoming foes.

The game will feature both online and/or split-screen cooperative play as well as a fully featured online mode that will be detailed at a later date. To go along with this news, the developer also released a handful of screenshots, which you can check out below.

Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault will launch on the PSN sometime this fall.
