SCE Bend Studios, best known for creating the Syphon Filter series, released the Vita launch title Uncharted Golden Abyss earlier this year, gaining a strong critical response. Nearly a year on, and the game is still one of the handheld’s best titles, so that’s why we’re pleased to report that they are working on yet another Vita title.
PSLS has uncovered a job listing on Gamastura where Bend states:
Bend Studio the creators of Sony’s flagship Vita title Uncharted Golden Abyss is currently looking for the entertainment industries top artistic talent to help us create AAA content for Sony’s powerful new hardware. We just scratched the surface on what the Vita can do with Uncharted Golden Abyss and expect to push the platform even further with our future projects.
So what could they be working on? Another Uncharted title is probably the most likely choice, but they could finally be planning to return to the Syphon Filter series – although Gabe’s absence from All-Stars, despite 7 PlayStation games, isn’t a good sign. There’s even a chance that Bend could convert Naughty Dog’s next big hit franchise, The Last of Us, to the handheld.
