Back when Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable was announced in October, the game was shaping up for a winter release at retail on the PlayStation Vita. Flash forward to today where the game has now become a digital download only title in North America, with a now confirmed January 8th release date and $39.99 price tag.
European gamers will be able to get their hands on EDF2017P just over a week later on January 16th. There was no mention of that one being available at retail, so be prepared to download the 600MB or so game to your memory card next month.
In a good piece of news, the game will fully support multiplayer with Europe and North America together, meaning that you can play with anyone from across the pond.
