Jesse McCartney Hints at Kingdom Hearts Voice Work, Likely the English HD Remix

Kingdom Hearts fans were ecstatic last year to hear that Square Enix would be bringing the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix to life. The excitement was short lived for English speaking fans as the announcement was only for a release in Japan. Jesse McCartney, better known by gamers as the voice actor who brought Kingdom Hearts 2‘s Roxas to life, may have just given English speaking fans a reason to be excited again.

Recently, on his Twitter feed, Jesse posted three very telling tweets. The first is the Instagram photo seen in the header that has now been deleted off of his account. Accompanying the picture was the text “For all you “Kingdom Hearts” Fans. Recording the next chapter! #KingdomHearts #Roxas #Gamers”. The next was a video that has also since been deleted. You can see the thumbnail that clearly shows a Kingdom Hearts game in a recording booth in the archived screenshot that I grabbed below.

The last tweet that rounds out the bunch has not been deleted, as it contains no telling content, but goes with his other two tweets. It simply says “Behind the Mic! Where else?” with an Instagram photo of Jesse in a vocal booth. The Kingdom Hearts related tweets, picture, and video have all been removed.

While he talks about “recording the next chapter”, chances are that this is not actually Kingdom Hearts 3 but rather doing the English voice work for Kingdom Hearts 1.5. As it was announced for Japan, 1.5 contains Kingdom HeartsKingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories and scenes from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. NeoGAF users seem to concur that he is recording the additional voice work for the scenes from 358/2 Days. As Square Enix hasn’t said anything officially and the content has been deleted, we’ll leave this one rumor table for now, but things are looking pretty good for western Kingdom Hearts fans.
