Ted Price: Insomniac has “Already Begun Expanding What We’ve Begun With Fuse”

We’re going to have to wait and see how well Fuse fares in the sales charts before we can accurately predict if a sequel to the game is financially viable, but according to a posting by Ted Price, Founder and CEO of Insomniac Games, it doesn’t look like they’re waiting around.

Inside the piece, Price talks about the history of Fuse and how it evolved from Overstrike, as well as game development and how it’s ever-changing, but the future of Fuse was discussed near the end. There, he announced that Insomniac has “already begun expanding what we’ve begun with Fuse. Right now as I write this we’re taking the core concepts behind Fuse and prototyping new stuff…stuff that leverages this bizarre alien substance which is at the heart of the game.”

Before you start to think this is DLC, Ted completely shoots down that idea, adding that he’s “talking about new Fuse experiences altogether.” We’re going to have to stay tuned to see exactly which direction Insomniac takes the Fuse franchise, but it sounds like they’re working on something very interesting.

Dan’s review of Fuse went up earlier this week, so be sure to check it out if you’re on the fence about buying the game.

Where do you think Insomniac will take Fuse? A sequel? A Vita spin-off? Let us know in the comments below.
