The Catch-Up: May 30th, 2013 – Snake Voice Actor Reveal on June 6th, Tales of Xillia Limited Edition, Mirror’s Edge 2 Help Page

In case you missed the biggest non-gaming story today, there’s a Grumpy Cat movie in the works. Now that that is covered, we can focus on the rest of the news from today that wasn’t already covered on PSLS.

General News

  • Namco Bandai announced that they’ll be bringing the Tales of Xillia Limited Edition to the US and Canada for $59.99 on August 6th. This first-run edition of the game include an exclusive character profile booklet, a Tales of Xillia CD, two DLC costumes, and, of course, the game itself. All previous pre-orders of Xillia will be upgraded to the Limited Edition. [Press Release]
  • Also out on August 6th, the Voice Over Pack for Dragon’s Crown will be free for the first month. After that, it costs $1.99. [Press Release]
  • The voice of Snake in Metal Gear Solid V will be revealed in a Konami pre-E3 event on June 6th at 10am PST. So you only have to wait a week before finding out that the David Hayter absence was another troll. [Press Release]
  • Following more than one retailer listing for Mirror’s Edge 2 on Xbox One, a Mirror’s Edge 2 help page briefly appeared on EA’s website. Since nothing about a PS3 or PS4 version has popped up, this could be an Xbox exclusive if real, so don’t get your hopes up just yet. [Source]
  • NHL 14‘s pre-order bonuses include an EA Sports Ultimate Pass at EB Games/GameStop (with two more bonuses TBA), while Amazon has extra equipment and boost items on offer. [Full Details]
  • Because they want to work themselves to death, FuturLab has re-submitted Velocity Ultra to SCEA QA and submitted a patch to SCEE, while also submitting Coconut Dodge: Revitalised to SCEA QA. [Tweet 1, 2, 3]
  • While we already let you know about the box art for the Commander in Chief Edition of Saints Row IV, the regular box art was also revealed today on Twitter (click on the image for a larger view):


  • God of War: Ascension’s patch 1.06/1.07 hasn’t been without its issues, and if you’re still having trouble getting it installed, here’s a bit of a workaround that might help you:
  1. XMB —> Game—-> scroll down pass the game loader. Delete the God of War bubble
  2. XMB –>> Game –>> Game Data Utility (There you will find the God of War: Ascension file. The file has it’s version, so you won’t make a mistake)
  3. Click on the game, a different installer pops up. You can just click cancel and play the game.
  4. If all else fails, re-installing the Online Pass might do the trick

  • While not as compelling as The Vampire Diaries, as scary as The Chernobyl Diaries, or as renewed as The Carrie Diaries, the Black Flag Diaries details how all the Ubisoft studios came together to work on Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag:
