FIFA 14 Update to Add FIFA 14 Ultimate Team: World Cup has Been Delayed (Update)

Update: EA has said:

All FIFA 14 players on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC are currently being prompted to download an update. This is in preparation for FUT World Cup, which we are aiming to launch later today, UK time.

World Cup Kick Off mode is now live and available to download for Xbox One and PS4.

Original Story: Scheduled to be released today, the FIFA 14 update to add FIFA 14 Ultimate Team: World Cup on all platforms and the World Cup Kick-Off Mode on PS4 and Xbox One has instead been delayed.

EA detailed this delay on their forums, which was caused by “unforeseen issues”:

To ensure the best possible experience, we have decided to delay the launch of FIFA 14 Ultimate Team: World Cup (PC/PS3/PS4/360/XB1) and the World Cup Kick-Off mode (XB1/PS4).

Knowing that our players have been so excited for these new modes made it a tough decision. However, as we progressed through final testing we encountered unforeseen issues that would affect all users who downloaded the update, so it’s important to address them first before release.

Our team is currently working hard to have the update ready to release in the coming days.

On Thursday evening (EU time) we will keep you updated on our progress. Be sure to follow @EASPORTSFIFA for further updates on FUT World Cup and World Cup Kick-Off.

We’ll let you know once a new release date is given.
