Japanese Sales Chart: Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Toukiden Kiwami Beat Yokai Watch 2

Despite Yokai Watch 2 moving an impressive 68,000 copies last week, it actually placed in 3rd, with Persona 4 Arena Ultimax on PS3 debuting at #1 by selling 89,000 copies, and Toukiden Kiwami on PS Vita right behind it in 2nd with 79,000 sold. The string of successful new PlayStation releases extended further into the top 5, with the Love Live Vita games combining to sell nearly 60,000, and Hyperdimenstion Neptunia U on Vita right below 35,000 sold.

Thanks to those new releases, the Vita and PS3 each rose in hardware sales, but the 3DS LL (XL) was still #1 overall. The good news for the PS3 is that finally outsold the regular 3DS, however, the PlayStation 4 couldn’t do the same.

Here’s how each system sold, along with the top 20 selling retail games in Japan between August 25 and August 31, 2014, according to Media Create:
