Report: PlayStation Plus Free Games Totaled Over $1,300 Per Subscription This Year

According to data compiled by UK publication, Push Square, the value of free games offered by Sony via its PlayStation Plus subscription program amounted to more than $1,300 per subscription this year.

Push Square went through the entire list of games offered with the subscription across all PlayStation platforms, and going by each game’s listed price on PlayStation Network, players received $1,349.29 worth of games (£960.64 in the UK) in return for the $50 (£39.99) annual fee.

Understandably, not everyone owns more than one console, so bear in mind that this analysis paints a general picture. While not all games offered were AAA titles or blockbusters, Push Square notes that the average monthly Metacritic rating for the games, according to the site’s research, is 79 in North America, and 78 in Europe, which is a pretty good deal. Last but not least, players do lose access to the games should their subscription expire, but they regain access whenever they renew their subscription.

Interesting figures, nonetheless. What do our readers think?
