Small Number of Staff Laid Off at Visceral Games, Work on Unannounced Star Wars Games Continues

EA has revealed that a small number of people have been laid off at Dead Space and Battlefield Hardline developer, Visceral Games.

While the publisher would’t give out the specific number of affected employees, it did mention that former Naughty Dog Amy Hennig and actor Todd Stashwick, both of whom who are working on the Star Wars project were unaffected by the staffing changes.

We made a small staffing change in our Visceral studio today to support the needs of the studio’s two current development priorities: content for Battlefield Hardline Premium and an unannounced Star Wars project…We are working to ensure the smoothest transition possible for the impacted employees.

Just last month, Steve Papoutsis, who was Visceral’s General Manager, left the studio — a move unrelated to Hardline according to EA.
