Hitman PS4 Beta Begins February 12, Io-Interactive Details Story Structure

To go along with the new World of Assassination trailer today, Hitman developer Io-Interactive detailed how the story will play out in their upcoming game.

When Hitman first launches on March 11 “as a truly episodic game experience with a major live component,” it will feature a structure inspired by modern TV shows, unfolding over multiple seasons. Thanks to the episodic nature of Hitman, Io-Interactive says they are able to create individual stores on Agent 47’s targets, as well as longer season stories involving 47, Diana Burnwood, the ICA, and an entirely new main cast. While the overall story and individual mission stories start out separate, they will begin to merge as the first season progresses.

“The world of assassination is an expression of the ongoing game world we have built over the last 15 years at Io-Interactive since the release of the very first Hitman game,” Community Manager Travis Barbour said. “It is the setting for past, present, and future Hitman games.”

As for the PlayStation 4 beta, it begins on February 12 and you can guarantee access by pre-ordering either the Full Experience or Intro Pack from the PlayStation Store, or by pre-ordering the Collector’s Edition. No matter which version you pre-order, all come with the Blood Money Requiem Pack.

Io-Interactive also revealed The Director, the first of six self-contained side-stories exclusive to PS4. It launches on March 11 and sees you going after Scott Sarno, Director of European Operations for the CICADA private military corporation. Highly trained and incredibly observant, he will be accompanied by several CICADA agents at all times.

At the end of 2016, Square Enix will release a physical version of Hitman with all the season’s content.
