The PlayStation Store already has a PlayStation 4 digital bundle of Prototype and Prototype 2, but many still prefer a physical copy of a game rather than digital. This October, GameStop will stock a physical version of the Prototype: Biohazard Bundle, and they will be the only retailer to do so.
The Biohazard Bundle contains Prototype, Prototype 2, and all of their DLC. While it is for PS4 when these games were both on PS3, this isn’t entirely a remastered vision of the game. It’s more of a GOTY bundle that has been twerked to work with the PS4 system. The first Prototype game features Alex Mercer, a genetically mutated shapeshifter with severe amnesia. As he burns through New York, literally, to learn who he is and how he ended up in a lab, he figures the best way to do so is to consume everyone who gets in his way. Prototype 2 takes place not long after the first game, after Mercer unleashes a virus in what is now known as New York Zero. Sgt. James Heller’s family was killed in the outbreak, and Heller himself becomes a mutant shapeshifter like Mercer. As he hunts down Mercer for revenge, he stops along the way to slaughter everyone who made Mercer.
Both games are action heavy with parkour running, gliding, and all kinds of inFamous– and Assassin’s Creed-like shenanigans.
Prototype: Biohazard Bundle will cost $39.99 at retail and release on October 4, 2016.
