Time Recoil Is a Top-Down Twin-Stick Shooter Where You Kill to Slow Time

Independent game developer 10tons, the creators of Crimsonland and Neon Chrome, has officially announced its latest title called Time Recoil, a new top-down twin-stick shooter that lets you slow down time with every kill.

In Time Recoil, players take on the role of a rebel agent who goes back in time to find and eliminate an “evil mad scientist dictator” named Mr. Time before his rise to power. The game takes you on several missions where the goals can range from eliminating specific targets to rescuing scientists.

As previously mentioned, the game’s main feature is the player’s ability to slow down time with every kill. Eliminating an enemy triggers a slow motion effect and any further kills during the slow motion charges the character’s special move.

The character’s special move changes depending on how much it is charged with kills before use. The basic special move is a dash that can go through and destroy walls while the most powerful is a psychic weapons that can take down multiple opponents at a time.

There’s no official and exact release date yet for Time Recoil but it is expected to come out sometime during the second quarter of 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and other platforms. 10tons has released a trailer of the game’s alpha to tease some of its gameplay.
