Fate/Extella Link

Fate/Extella Link Officially Announced

Marvelous and TYPE-MOON have today officially revealed Fate/Extella Link and opened its official site in Japan. This is a new Fate/Extella game that will have better graphics and gameplay system of the Dynasty Warriors-like action, as well as a new story which focuses on a new servant, the Saber-class Charlemagne, who has a Noble Phantasm named Joyeuse Ordre. There will be more new servants other than Charlemagne, that are to be announced at a later date.

All 16 servants that were playable in the previous game, Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star, are also confirmed returning in this game. For a reminder, here is the list of them:

  • Nero Claudius (Class: Saber)
  • Tamamo no Mae (Class: Caster)
  • Altera (Class: Saber)
  • Arturia Pendragon (Class: Saber)
  • Nameless (Class: Archer)
  • Gilgamesh (Class: Archer)
  • Cu Chulainn (Class: Lancer)
  • Medusa (Class: Rider)
  • Gawain (Class: Saber)
  • Lu Bu Fengxian (Class: Berserker)
  • Li Shuwen (Class: Assassin)
  • Elizabeth Bathory (Class: Lancer)
  • Karna (Class: Lancer)
  • Iskandar (Class: Rider)
  • Jeanne d’Arc (Class: Ruler)
  • Archimedes (Class: Caster)

Alternator also has excerpt of an interview of the game on TYPE-MOON Ace magazine, which specifies that Marvelous proposed Fate/Extella Link as a side story-like game which should focus more on the action, and a proper sequel to Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star is still being plotted separately.

Fate/Extella Link - Charlemagne

As of the initial reveal, Fate/Extella Link does not have either release date or platform announced yet. However, considering that The Umbral Star was released on PlayStation 4 and Fate/Extella Link will have improved graphics, we are assuming that it will be at least coming to PlayStation 4. In the meantime, you can take a look at screenshots that have been published for this new game right below.
