GTA V and God of War Rule the July 2018 NPD Charts

In the past, Sony’s PlayStation 4 had dominated both when it came to hardware and software. According to the July 2018 NPD software sales data, the situation has changed. Even though PS4 games are still selling like crazy, exclusives like God of War are no longer at the top of the general chart.

That doesn’t mean God of War isn’t doing well. It is just the recently released high-budget action-adventure game dropped down to the thirteenth spot on the chart. At the same time, Nintendo games like Mario Kart 8, Super Mario Odyssey and Octopath Traveler made their way to the very top

With these sales showing that consumers are keen on PS4 games and Sony’s stock reaching its highest peak in a decade in July 2018, it’s safe to say Sony will continue to push for more exclusives. Of course, let’s not forget that one of their biggest ones, Marvel’s Spider-Man, is coming in September 2018 and will likely further boost sales.
