One Piece World Seeker may have been delayed, but that doesn’t mean there can’t be a fresh, new trailer for Tokyto Game Show 2018. The trailer sets up the story for us, which is an original scenario written for the game, that features a couple of original characters designed by series creator Eiichiro Oda.
One Piece World Seeker is set on Jewel Island, an aprtly named land of enormous, natural gem growths that the Straw Hat Pirates crash land on. The Navy presence on the island is huge as it’s being rebuilt after a war, but there’s turmoil still as the island’s population is split between supporting and opposing the Navy being there.
One of the new characters is Jeanne, who leads Jewel Island’s anti-Navy organization efforts. She gets involved with One Piece protagonist Monkey D. Luffy, in an effort to overthrow Issac, the other new character who is the acting warden of an enormous prison that has an oppressive presence on Jewel Island.
One Piece World Seeker currently has a 2019 release window for the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC. The game is being developed by Ganbarion, which has a long history with video games based on Shonen Jump IP, particularly One Piece.
