Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is quite a different animal than its predecessors, and part of its new face is the fact that it will launch with a total of three Zombies campaigns for players to enjoy out of the box (four with specific preorder bonuses). One of those Zombies campaigns is Blood of the Dead, a remake and reimagining of a classic map from Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Mob of the Dead. That original map is intact, updated with additional areas to explore on Alcatraz island, both interior and exterior. Of course, there’s a huge graphical improvement too, and we’re finally seeing what a corpse-ridden Alcatraz can look like five years later.
Treyarch’s already shown off the opening cutscene for this particular map, but if you want a closer look at what you can expect from Blood of the Dead, check out the extended trailer above. You’ll get a glimpse of Alcatraz, the hordes of enemies you’ll face, and the the struggles the characters will encounter together. Blood of the Dead adds to the story of Tank Dempsey, Nikolai Belinski, Takeo Masaki, and Edward Richtofen, replacing the original Mob of the Dead characters and continuing a long saga that Zombies fans have become deeply invested in.
You won’t have to wait long to get your hands on Blood of the Dead and the rest of the Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Zombies campaigns. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launches on October 12, 2018. You’ll need to make sure your hard drive is prepared for the install though! Treyarch recommends that PS4 players keep 112 GB free so that they can download the 50 GB day one update, though the final total footprint of the game will only take up 55 GB on your hard drive (despite previous false reports that it would be 100 GB).
