Blizzard Released a Statement on the BlizzCon 2018 Diablo Rumors

A lot of rumbling has been happening on the subject of Diablo, thanks to a pair of high-profile panels bookending this year’s BlizzCon event on the main events stage. Oh, and there was also the whole BlizzCon merch website spilling all the beans about some new stuff for sale branded with the series. While a lot of talk about Diablo 4 has been at the forefront of the scuttlebutt, Blizzard has stepped in with an attempt to get fans to rein in their expectations a bit.

The official Diablo website has been updated with a new news post titled, “Diablo at BlizzCon 2018. In the blog post, Blizzard acknowledges the rumor mill has been churning. However, while stating that there are “multiple teams working on different Diablo projects,” the post says we’ll know what’s going on “when the time is right.” The implication here being that BlizzCon 2018 may not be the time for the info faucet to open up at full blast.

However, that doesn’t mean everyone will walk away disappointed. The post goes on to state that while not every project is ready for an announcement, there will be Diablo news at the show. In fact, one of the panels is about the future of Diablo, so news of some sort is pretty much a given.

With Diablo 3 launching for the Nintendo Switch on the same day as BlizzCon 2018 starts, it’s clear Blizzard has plenty of interest in keeping eyes on the property. Just don’t let the fun rumor talk get your hopes up too high!
