Here’s a Closer Look at Heartman’s Unique Character in Death Stranding

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Kojima Productions have released a two-minute video that offers a closer look at Heartman in Death Stranding. Played by film director Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive), Heartman is a unique character with a strange heart that stops beating every 21 minutes.

As Hideo Kojima explained at the San Diego Comic-Con last week, Heartman has an EKG strapped to his chest to revive him when he dies. However, before he comes back to life, he’s able to spend three minutes on the other side where he searches for his family. According to the video’s description, Heartman is a member of Bridges (a delivery services company), and is “committed to researching the truth of the Death Stranding.”

Without further ado, check out the character spotlight below:

Heartman’s life is as strange as his heart. He lives in a luxurious apartment where he owns a special collection of items, such as movies and music, that last him 20 minutes before he’s out again.

Death Stranding will release exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on November 8, 2019. Other than the standard copy, the game comes in three different editions: Special Edition ($69.99), Digital Deluxe Edition ($79.99), and Collector’s Edition ($199). You can find more information on each as well as a list of preorder bonuses in our previous article.
