While PlayStation fans were tuned into the State of Play yesterday, Warner Bros. Discovery casually dropped Mortal Kombat 12 release date window. The company confirmed that its highly-anticipated fighter will release this year.
Mortal Kombat 12 release date window revealed during an earnings call
Up until yesterday, Mortal Kombat 12 was all but confirmed. We knew that the game is in development but there were speculations that NetherRealm will release Injustice 3 first. However, there were also rumors that WB Games is prioritizing Mortal Kombat 12 because of the franchise’s popularity and commercial peformance.
Well, we now have confirmation that NetherRealm’s next game is indeed Mortal Kombat 12 and it’s coming this year.
“There’s lots more to come, including the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat 12 and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League – games also set for release this year with ambitious launch projections,” Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav told investors during an earnings call.
Yes, that’s right. Mortal Kombat 12’s release window was revealed during an earnings call, a clip of which is available below.

Something tells me creator Ed Boon isn’t too thrilled right now.
