Death Stranding 2 is receiving a surprising update this week, to coincide with the game’s official launch on PC, adding tons of new features and content to the game.
What’s new in Death Stranding 2’s surprise update?
In a recent announcement on the PlayStation Blog, Kojima Productions revealed some of the new content set to arrive in the game. First up, the game will now include a new “to the wilder” mode, which tests your porter skills to the extreme by filling environments with enemies, and making orders more difficult to complete.
New fieldware in the game will also be added, including new bandanas that can be unlocked in the VR training area, as well as some more visual upgrades, including the ability to see the Chiral Feline show up in Sam’s private room aboard the DHV Magellan, and also see it in Photo Mode.
While these upgrades are also coming to the PC version of the game, Kojima Productions says PS5 players can expect them in the console version at the same time, on March 19, 2026. For those looking to play on PC, Kojima Productions has also revealed some in-game goodies you can get by making sure you stay connected.
PS5 owners who are also planning to play Death Stranding 2 on PC can also claim some in-game design patches for backpack customization, as well as an exclusive suit inspired by the PlayStation logo, by connecting their PlayStation accounts to the game.
