When Konami’s arcade-style rhythm game Dance Dance Revolution debuted roughly ten years ago, it took the world by storm. Kids and adults alike everywhere, whether good dancers or not, spent hours burning hundreds of calories with one of the most exciting games to ever embrace the arcade market. Now after years of waiting, fans will be able to experience the beloved dance series on the powerful PS3 console.

According to a recent tweet on Konami’s official Twitter account, Dance Dance Revolution will finally be hitting the PlayStation 3 soon. The Tweet by Konami says the following:

We’re bringing DanceDanceRevolution to the PS3! And we’re bringing YOU to the launch party!

While the foot-moving DDR series has made it’s way to previous PlayStation consoles and even competing current-generation platforms, the PlayStation 3 has been out of luck — until now! To top it all off, Konami will be hosting a launch party for the title in Los Angeles on Thursday, August 12, which is now only days away. With PlayStation Move and Dance Dance Revolution ready to embrace Sony within the next few months, the casual market and party-goers will have plenty to look forward to on the PS3 platform.
